George Porter born in yarmouth row 33, son of Joseph Porter and Ann Elizabeth Waller
We do believe he had something to do with the fairground in gt yarmouth, this is what prompted the move to Yorkshire, they worked a couple of decades at hope bank pleasure park, honley, huddersfield, they actually ran the park, with all the children as they grew up working in it.
Research has proven the Hotchkiss bicycle ride and switchback was transported from great yarmouth along with the attendants for the start of the 1910 season at hope bank, they were dismantled in yarmouth at the end of the 1909 season, this ties in with theie move to Yorkshire, we know they were in yarmouth march 1910 as they registered a childs death but were in huddersfield april 1911 when another childs birth was registered.
George married Alice Emma PATTERSON on 13 Apr 1901 in Rocklands St Mary, Nfk. (Alice Emma PATTERSON was born on 2 Oct 1883 in Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk and died on 22 Jun 1956 in Huddersfield, Yorks.)
